An AXN is a content-derived identifier. Its identity kernel is the SHA-256 of your file's canonical bytes, rendered as six glyphs a hand can copy — derived from the work rather than assigned to it, so anyone can verify it anywhere, without asking us.

Composed by hand, photographed, stamped on an added margin — the hand is never overprinted — witnessed into the public registry, and verifiable by anyone, forever, without an account. No promise of ours is load-bearing. Every line below follows from one fact: the identifier is computed from your bytes, so verifying it needs no permission, no service, and no one's continued goodwill — including ours.

An arch stands by its geometry, not by anyone's effort. Remove the builder and it still holds. That is the difference between a promise and a structure.

Free, permanently. Not free-for-now.

  • Computed, not granted. The kernel is the SHA-256 of your file. We do not issue it, and there is nothing for us to revoke.
  • Verifiable without us. Anyone holding the file recomputes the kernel themselves. No account, no key, no fee — there is nothing to charge for.
  • The registry is a static file in public version control, downloadable whole. No server's permission stands between a reader and the record.
  • Positions cannot be sold. A position is allocated by content order. Selling one would require an authority the system does not have.
  • The ending is specified. If this stops, the archive is published for download. An ending that was never planned for is just an erasure.
